The Founder Story
This was the reality for Kate (Founder of Everstride) back in 2021.
For years, Kate battled with severe leg pain and swelling due to diabetes, and struggled to do even the simplest of tasks.
She knew that compression socks would solve her problems, but there weren’t any designed for her larger calves.
The ones she tried either slid down, wore out quickly, or felt like they were strangling her legs.
Realising that this wasn’t only a problem she was facing, Kate decided to take matters into her own hands and developed the first ever Everstride sock.
Kate’s journey to create the perfect compression sock wasn’t easy. It began with endless nights of research, trying to understand the intricacies of leg pain, swelling, and the science behind compression therapy.
She reached out to numerous manufacturers, explaining her vision and the need for a sock specifically designed for women with larger calves.
The initial responses were less than encouraging. Many manufacturers didn’t understand the unique needs Kate was addressing, and those who did often delivered samples that missed the mark.
Kate found herself in a seemingly endless cycle of receiving samples, testing them, and sending back feedback. Some socks were too tight, others too loose; some lacked durability, while others failed to provide the necessary support.
Despite the challenges, Kate persevered.
Sleepless nights became the norm as she meticulously examined each sample, noting every flaw and improvement needed.
She tested the socks herself, wore them during her daily routines, and even during her toughest days to ensure they provided the relief she desperately needed.
But she didn’t stop there. Kate involved her friends and family in the testing process, gathering a diverse group of women who faced similar struggles. Their feedback was invaluable.
Each round of testing brought her closer to the perfect design. She listened to stories of discomfort and pain, used their experiences to refine the product, and ensured that every iteration of the sock addressed the issues they faced.
After months of hard work, countless revisions, and relentless testing, Kate finally developed a prototype that met her rigorous standards.
The sock offered the perfect balance of graduated compression, durability, and comfort. It didn’t slide down, it didn’t strangle the legs, and it provided real relief from pain and swelling.
With a product she could be proud of, Kate launched Everstride, and the response was overwhelming.
Women across the U.K, who had long suffered from leg pain and swelling, found solace in Everstride socks. The positive feedback poured in, with countless women sharing stories of how these socks had transformed their lives.
Since its launch, Everstride has helped over 40,000 women finally get their lives back.
Women who once struggled to get out of bed, walk up the stairs, or stand for extended periods found themselves able to move with ease and comfort. The socks not only alleviated pain and swelling but also restored their confidence and independence.
Kate’s journey from enduring daily pain to creating a solution that benefits thousands is a testament to her determination and empathy.
She understood the struggles firsthand and channeled her experiences into developing a product that genuinely helps others. Everstride isn’t just a brand; it’s a community of women supporting each other, finding relief, and reclaiming their lives, one step at a time.
